1. How did you cope/manage completing the three days of “Life of a Teacher”
I entered the three days I knowing that I would be spending in the life of a teacher with an open mind and a readiness to learn. I think a lot of people misjudge what it's like to be a teacher and frequently dismiss how demanding their days are. After completing my first day in my life, I encountered difficulties. These hurdles allow for progress, even /though I tried to maintain a positive outlook and remind myself that I am still learning. My mentor teacher's assistance and encouragement, as well as her willingness to answer my inquiries and offer insightful counsel, were other factors in my personal development. My teacher assisted me in finishing the timetable for the upcoming days.
2. How did you feel taking on all the responsibilities of a teacher in Block 1 compared to Block 2?
I would characterize myself as overwhelmed and nervous in block 1. It was an intimidating task to oversee a classroom for the full day. I had been teaching in classrooms I was unfamiliar with, so I was really worried. However, once I moved into block 2, I felt much more in control and competent. My experience from block 1 helped me better handle the problems I experienced since I knew what may happen and how to get out of tight spots. Based on the lessons I acquired on the first day, I improved my teaching methods and classroom management abilities using my experience from block 1.
3. Which activities did you find most challenging? How did you overcome these challenges?
I found that handling disruptive learners and managing the classroom to be the most difficult tasks. On my first day, I had trouble keeping things in order and keeping learners engaged. I also had trouble finishing the days’ worth of content because some of the learners were just not paying attention. I was told by other teachers to enforce the rules in the classroom and to be stricter and tough. This was really helpful when I had to finish my following few days.
4. Analyze the results of your self-evaluation survey. Where would you rate yourself higher?
In terms of classroom management, where I have made significant progress since my first day, I would give myself a higher rating. Without a doubt, I was able to keep things organized and disciplined, which improved behavior's and participation.
Next comes lesson planning, where I've learned how to use new approaches and strategies that I've seen used by more seasoned instructors to produce more effective classes that accommodate students' varied needs and learning styles.
5. Justify how you have improved these competencies through this experience.
By putting into practice, the strategies, I had read, such assigning more group work, my learners were able to learn and work together while interacting with their peers, and the class became more organized and productive. Although I am constantly learning how to develop myself so that I can allow the different learners and their learning styles to participate in the best way possible using their unique learning styles, my lesson plans have improved as a result of my consideration of the diverse requirements of learners. In order to make learning enjoyable, I frequently use exit tickets to determine what they need, what is not working for them, and how they would like to learn.
6. Look at the exit level outcomes and the final comments of your mentor teacher in your School Assessment Log & Report. Compare this to the initial self-evaluation you had completed at the beginning of your teaching experience.
My mentor teacher helped me accommodate the various learning styles, and I think that with practice, we can both get better at this. I possessed strong subject knowledge and trustworthy procedures for evaluating student learning, just as my mentor teacher had suggested. Finally, my reflection was regarded as exceptional. In relation to my competencies, I think I've progressed sufficiently, but I still have a lot to learn and will continue to do so. Teachers are regarded as lifelong learners. I think I classified myself as competent on most of the questions, but I may now speculate that I might be proficient.
